Ben is Mobile!!!

I guess I have been trying to ignore the fact that Ben has become mobile this week. He is doing the "inchworm" crawl as I call it. He also rolls everywhere. Ben is very driven to get particular objects...especially Will's toys. It amazes me how he already knows what toys are not his!

Will did great at his second day of school on Thursday. He walked right in like a trooper. The teacher said he had fun! Will did his first art project at school...he painted a monkey. He was very proud of it.

Will's First Day of School!

Well, the day has come that our little boy gets to go to preschool. Will is attending the CDC program at our church on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 1. Will did not want to wear his backpack but was very proud of his dinosaur lunchbox. He walked right in and started playing. I quickly handed his stuff to his teacher and left. We did take some pictures with Daddy outside before we went in. The school had a breakfast for the parents and they had "runners" that would check on your child. I had them check before I left and they said he was doing great.

Will was glad to see me when I picked him up. He told me he played with toys and rode a truck. I am so happy that he did well.

Wild Safari!!!

On Saturday we took Will to the Safari Park in way south Huntsville. It is a drive thru park and you can purchase feed to give to the animals out your car window. There were all sorts of animals to see.... zebra, camel, turkey, goats, deer, bison, the list goes on. They literally come to your window. It was fun and Will loved every minute of it.

We have been watching the Olympics. Will loves the swimming and has been showing us how he can do it...on the carpet!! It is rather humorous to watch.

We take Will to open house tomorrow for his new school. I hope all goes well!

Happy Anniversary!!!

Today is our 4th Anniversary...we have had a lot going on the past four years. Moving, 2 babies and a sick child. I hope this next year will be a very healthy and happy one for our family!

Chip surprised me with a gift certificate to the new spa at the Westin at Bridgestreet for a massage and a pedicure. I can't wait to go and relax!

We are going to go out for dinner on Saturday thanks to our babysitters, Gigi, Pop, and Uncle Bub!!!

Mixed Emotions

Will's platelets today were 133,000. Dr. Ferrante considers anything above 130,000 normal so we are officially dismissed as of today. I am very happy that things have been "more normal" the past 6 months but it is hard to deal with the "not knowing" what his platelets are when he falls and hits his head.

It will be one year on August 23rd since his last IVIG treatments. I feel blessed that his body is trying to heal itself. Please continue to pray for Will's healing. We will continue to watch his bruises and for petichiae.

Will weighed 35 pounds and was 38 inches tall. I can't believe how big he is getting!

On a fun note, we took Will to Jump Zone and he loved it! Mommy and Daddy had lots of fun too.

6th Month Check-up

Well, Ben had his shots today and he did pretty good. He weighed in at 18lbs. 8oz and was 26 1/4 inches long. Suprisingly he weighed less than Will did at the same age. The doctor said he looked great. We will start solids soon, mommy just needs to get the the store.

Will is looking good this week so I am praying for high platelet counts on Wednesday. We have open house for his new school in a week. I think he will really enjoy it. Will got to spend the day with is Gigi while I took Ben to the doctor. I think he really enjoys having his one on one time without brother around.

Hot Hot Hot!

It has been so hot here this past week. Ben has been spitting up when he gets hot so we are having to stay indoors until after dinner. Will had fun playing with shaving cream the other day. His imagination is growing bigger everyday and loves to pretend that he is different people (firefighter, farmer, contruction worker, etc.).

Ben continues to get on all fours and rock back and forth. He is rolling all over the place trying to get Will's toys. We have finally started him on rice cereal and he seems to like it most of the time.
