Mission Accomplished

I love to scrapbook but don't have anytime to do it anymore. Our dining room has been my scrapbooking room for the past year...well now I have to clean it!! We are having 14 people at our house for Thanksgiving. I sorted through a lot of ticket stubs, church bulletins, cards, etc from this year. I am glad to say it is all organized now so that when I go back to do those pages everything will be nice and neat.

I have had one particular "event" that I have been wanting to scrapbook but have not found the time. I wanted to do Will's ITP/St. Jude pages. I finally finished it tonight. I found this very therapeutic...that might be weird but I did! I had read a story about a girl who had been sick with cancer and her mom made her a scrapbook but mentioned nothing of the cancer..the girl wanted to know where those pages were... The point being that sometimes it is good to remember the not so good times. Will won't remember having ITP but it was a BIG thing in our lives for a year and a half.

Little Pilgrim

Will had his Thanksgiving Feast at school today. When I picked him up he was wearing his pilgrim hat and we can't forget the macaroni "Indian" necklace. I asked him if I could take his picture and he wanted to do it by the tree. Once we were on our way home he told me he ate a roll and some chips. I asked if he had turkey and he said yes.

Ben and I had a nice lunch with Daddy and a quick run to the store. I think Ben enjoys his "only" child time but I know he misses Will because he crawls around looking for him.

Will is 34 Months!

Will is 34 months today....2 months until the big 3!!! Will has become such the little boy. This year he has went from baby to preschooler. Will continues to keep us on our toes and always has the funniest things to say. We continue to count our blessings that he is now a healthy little boy.

Will is now taking gymnastics class at the Little Gym. He was the only one in class the other day so I got to take some pics. Our little boy has no fear when it comes to trying new things or heights! He loves the balance beam...I hated it when I was little (needless to say my gymnastics career was short-lived). The top picture is when he decided to paint himself!!!

FIRST STEPS

Ben took his first steps today!!! I was sitting on the couch going through some stuff (Will was napping) . Ben was cruising up and down the couch...then he turns around, lets go and takes 2 or so steps. Will walked at 10 months so looks like Ben will be on 2 feet before long!

Galaxy of Lights

Will is pondering on what he wants for Christmas.....

We went to the Botanical Gardens tonight for the walk through of the Galaxy of Lights. We were wanting to go Saturday with Gigi and Pop but it is suppose to be very COLD that day. We got there right when it started and Will was so excited to see all the big Christmas lights. It was damp out but not very cold. Will's biggest concern was where the cookies were....we finally got to the cookies at the half-way point. I have to say the cookies were really good and so was the hot chocolate. Will almost walked the entire way.

At the very end Will got to sit on Santa's lap again. He did not say much but went to him just fine. Ben just sat there and looked around. We then went to dinner and both boys were tired!

Will had a good day at school but was not so sure when I dropped him off in carline. It had been a whole week since he was there last due to sickness and Veteran's day. Next week is his Thanksgiving Feast.

Remembering those who served....

Today would have been my grandfather's 88th birthday. It was hard yesterday seeing all the veteran's and remembering everything that he went through serving our country in WWII.

My grandfather served in the 80th Infantry Divison from July 21, 1943 to November 1, 1945. He went to England on the Queen Mary and spent six months there before being captured by the Germans in Northeast France. The prisoners were then transported to prison camps in boxcars which were shelled by the Americans as the Germans ran for cover. He was taken to a farm to work for a family who had a son in a POW camp here in Georgia. He slept in tight quarters with a coffee can for a latrine and was made to work in wooden shoes. He was freed by Patton's army after spending 9 months as a German POW.
